Tip 1: Buy loose and take your own containers
Look for shops where you can buy your produce loose, such as at supermarket deli counters, market stalls, local independent shops and zero waste stores. Take along some reusable bags and containers for completely plastic-free purchasing.
Tip 2: Choose drinks in glass bottles or aluminium cans
Avoid plastic bottles wherever possible. If you get thirsty out and about, opt for a drink packaged in a glass bottle or aluminium can instead. Remember to recycle -- and remember to take along a plastic-free refillable bottle next time!
Tip 3: Try making your own from scratch
Anyone in your household dairy-free? You can save a fortune on prepackaged non-dairy milks by whizzing up a batch of oat milk once a week. Or why not keep your energy up and your costs down with some homemade no-bake energy bars? Lots of goodness, no plastic packaging!
