Pledge to try more eco-friendly xmas decorations

Pledge to celebrate the festive period with less waste and clutter with these eco-friendly decoration ideas.

Tip 1: Go foraging for decorations

This is not only a great way to cut down on the amount of plastic and packaging you’re buying, it’s also a perfect excuse to get outside and spend time with the family.
Look for holly, ivy, chestnuts and pine cones. They can either be used to decorate your tree or to create a homemade wreath!

Tip 2: Switch to LED lights

Eco-friendly LED light bulbs are good for the environment simply because they use much less energy to run. In fact, they can use up to 80% less energy than other types of Christmas lights.

Tip 3: Edible decorations

What could be "greener" than creating decorations that are to be eaten afterwards!

Some ideas include gingerbread men, marshmallow penguins, chocolate lollies and reindeer pretzels. Edible treats can look amazingly festive, particularly when fairy lights reflect off their surface.
