Matthew Ball, General Manager

Working across the Waste & Recycling and Events sectors for the past 14 years, Matthew became acutely aware of the challenges posed when providing services to increase recycling participation and capture rates, both at home and ‘on the go’.

Understanding that people are motivated by different things, he became passionate about improving recycling rates and motivating participation through education and reward. In his role as General Manager for Greenredeem, working in both the public and private sector, Greenredeem rewards people for everyday green actions. Matthew lives in Oxford and is married with two children.
Rob Crumbie, Director of Marketing & Communications
Rob joined the team back in 2009, when it was just an idea around a kitchen table. Accompanied by 3 equally eager colleagues at the time, they worked to create the Greenredeem scheme that engaging over 150k members today.

Prior to joining the team, Rob held a variety of senior marketing positions at Sainsbury’s. Whether it was raising £10m for Comic Relief in 2009, or creating the Active Kids scheme – which has seen over £100m of sports equipment donated to schools since its inception, Rob is keen that linking communications to causes can have an incredibly positive effect for communities.
David Hinton, Business Development Officer
David joined the team in June of this year with responsibilities as Business Development Officer. The role is to secure Local Authority and Commercial contracts that promote and encourage increased recycling across all streams. The objective is to help, for example, LA’s to achieve their EU 2020 recycling targets and beyond.

David has extensive business knowledge, having worked predominately in FMCG and Environmental markets. He provides an experienced and pragmatic approach in sales development, through adding value to the whole business proposition.
Doug Mulvihill, Digital Marketing Manager
As the Digital Marketing Manager for Greenredeem, Doug’s role is to deliver engaging and motivating campaigns for our members and partners. Having worked with large brands such The National Lottery and Three Mobile, he’s used to delivering at the highest level with exceptional results.

After working in an agency for 2 years, Doug then moved into the public sector for The University of Oxford where he managed campaigns for the Alumni Office. He also revamped their communications including the project management of the new alumni website. Doug lives in the spiralling city of Oxford.
Trevor Hessey, Direct Mail Account Manager
Trevor has worked with the Greenredeem team since 2011, and certainly knows what it takes to ensure that the production of our customer communications meet the exacting requirements of the marketplace.

Trevor began his career in the fast moving world of Advertising Agency production, producing marketing collateral for iconic retail brands such as Boots and Raleigh Bicycles. He has also spent time learning the intricacies of direct mail both on the account management and manufacturing side, and Trevor’s expertise in this field enables him to advise on the best way of bringing products to market, from concept to final completion – on time, on brand and on budget!
Jo Dimbleby, Greener Living Editor
Responsible for dreaming up and producing the majority of our monthly Greener Living articles since 2012, Greenredeem’s blogger Jo loves rooting out the newest and best green ideas to share with our members.

Jo has over eight years’ experience in ethical web journalism, copywriting and editing; working with a wide range of clients from national and international charities to large media providers, as well as local start-ups in her adopted home town of Brighton.
Jenny Dodd, Customer Service
Jennifer joined the team in June 2015, having come from a teaching background. She believes in the importance of educating people about their planet and the impact the population can have on it, and has often been involved in organising events with her pupils, such as fundraisers and even litter-picking sessions!

Jennifer’s role at Greenredeem primarily concerns customer care and she enjoys helping to make members’ experiences positive ones. She’s a big fan of arts and crafts and, much to her partner’s dismay, Jennifer rarely throws things out if she thinks she can find an alternative, creative use for them.
Melanie Penfold, Local Authority Development Officer
Having been born into the world of waste and recycling and worked in the industry for over 10years, Melanie’s most recent position was Senior Waste and Recycling Officer for the top 2 councils in England – South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse, who have maintained the highest recycling rates (over 65%) since 2010.

Melanie’s passion for recycling and waste minimisation has contributed to developing and implementing new recycling campaigns and initiatives which resulted in the councils winning a number of waste industry awards.

When she’s not reading up on all the waste gossip or taking photo’s of recycling bins and trucks whilst on her holidays (sad but true!) Melanie enjoys spending time with her family, fine wine and good food!!
Holly Sainsbury, PR Account Executive
Holly has been working at Hotwire PR, Greenredeem’s PR agency, since 2011. During this time she’s worked on building awareness of Greenredeem at a national, local and industry level. Whether it’s organising community events with parents, children and CBBC Star Mr Bloom, or sharing Greenredeem’s opinion on Government waste funds, Holly is an advocate for rewarding green behaviour and understands the challenges facing the industry.

Holly has worked in consumer PR for 5 years, in both the UK and Australia and has experience delivering high impact consumer marketing and PR campaigns. Holly lives in Berkshire, and is currently busy renovating her house.
Jack Yarrow, Local Rewards Officer
Coming from a background in Waste Management, Jack joined Greenredeem in early 2014 and was part of our local rewards team responsible for the creation and implementation Ealing’s reward program. Working with community groups, local businesses and charities within our client base, Jack continues to monitor and maintain our local rewards to ensure we offer something for everyone.

In Jack’s spare time, playing to an impressive handicap of 5, he enjoys golf, football and attending festivals.
